Terry Jones 2012 at the FL GOP Debates: SOTU is Out of Control

"The state of our Union is getting stronger."

"...anyone who tells you that America is in decline or that our influence has waned, doesn’t know what they’re talking about."

Barack Hussein Obama in his State of the Union speech, January 25th, 2012

Terry Jones knows what he is talking about. America is in a fast decline. The state of our Union is not getting stronger. It is out of control.

Last week Terry Jones and Stand Up America Now attended the rallies at the two Florida Republican Debates and dealt with issues in a way that they have not been dealt with before. The republican party along with the democratic party has not presented to the American people true strong leadership.  It is time to have a real change.

If you weren't there, watch the videos below. These young people opposing us, or many like them with the same aggressive anti-truth spirit will be the next leaders of America.  It is obvious to see that America is going in a very undesirable direction.

As we arrived and entered the allowed area we began to exercise our First Amendment rights, especially that of Freedom of Speech, which is the most precious right we have as Americans.  We were met with very much aggression.  We were attacked, assaulted, pushed, shoved.  Those who formed human-chains blocked the sidewalks.  As we tried to express our views about different political subjects in America, as well as our concern for America and the direction our country is going, we were shocked to see that our nation is becoming a nation out of control.

We were further shocked by the lack of support by the police.  The police stood around on the other side of temporary barriers as people assaulted us, touched us, pushed us, grabbed and destroyed every one of our signs, blocked the sidewalk, and began to mask themselves as if they were about to attack us.  Through all of this, the police did absolutely nothing. (Although it was dark, much of this scene is shown in Tampa Part 5.)

This did not deter us.  We went on to Jacksonville, Florida, to express and exercise our First Amendment rights.  This is something we must do as Americans.  We hope and we pray that the country can be turned from the direction that it is headed.  This is why we need strong leadership.  We do not need politicians who appease the people, we need politicians who stand up and tell the truth.

In Jacksonville we continued to address the issues that are vital to America such as our budget, our deficit, and same sex marriage.  We tackled our illegal problem of over 20 million illegals in America, which costs American citizens $540 billion a year. We dealt with the area of abortion, the killing of babies.  We continued our mission of bringing awareness to the American people about the condition and the urgency to act before our nation is lost.

Once again we were met with the brutal truth of how our nation has decayed.  As we exercised our first amendment rights, we were met with very much opposition, violence and attacks.  We were spit on and our signs were torn.  As our nation continues to decay, it is decaying from the top, starting with our most precious constitutional right that we have, our first amendment right of freedom of speech, the right to express yourself by saying things that are possibly unpopular.  In the past, that has been the only way change can take place.

Stand Up America Now will not draw back.  We will not be intimidated, we will not react out of fear, we will not be bullied.  We will continue, around America, to make our presence and our opinions known.  They are vital for the restoration of America’s economic and moral greatness.

If it had not been for the outstanding job of the Jacksonville Police Department, the University of North Florida Police Department, and security that was available there, if they had not intervened, there is no doubt we would have been harmed.  We thank the Campus Police, the police of Jacksonville and the entire security force that helped to protect our first amendment rights as well as those of other participants.

Debate turns into test of free speech. Some students failed.

Posted Jan 24, 2012 by Lindsay Peterson

Things got a little ugly last night outside the theater where the four GOP presidential candidates were debating.

But the mess offered up a far better lesson in democracy than what was going on inside the theater.

Early on people were having a good time outside, but the crowd grew and became restless as the night deepened, and people seemed to start feeding off the anger in the air.

It came from all sides.

Koran burner Terry Jones was there, and his group confronted protesters from Occupy Tampa and Students for a Democratic Society with shouts of “deport all illegals” and “impeach Obama.”

The students shouted back, “No more hate,” then graduated to some comments I can’t print.

It kept on and on, until someone grabbed a sign from a Jones supporter, ran away with it and tore it to bits, stomping on the pieces. Someone else snatched another and another. Finally the police stepped in and everyone sort of backed off.

The Jones contingent had clearly taunted the Occupy Tampa and SDS crowd, and some students were delighted to see people tear away the anti-gay, anti-immigrant signs.

“They should know they can’t come here and say that stuff,” one student said.

Others, however, were disgusted.

“The debate has barely started and people are going after each other,” senior Peter Murphy said. “That isn’t free speech.”

It was sort of a test.

In a world where you can customize your personal media to play only what you want to hear, where you can block out most everything else, it can be a shock to have someone yelling something you hate in your face.

And it can show you something about yourself.

Thank Terry Jones for this life lesson.
